We Build More Than Robots, We Build Futures

What began with nine students has grown into 90 members and 350 alumni worldwide. Skyview Robotics is now one of southwest Washington's leading STEM programs—training future innovators and promoting STEM education.

One Program, Two Teams

Our program fields two FIRST Robotics Competition teams, each with its own identity:

Stormbots 2811

StormBreakers 9567

Both teams are supported by our subteam structure, allowing students to develop specialized skills.

Program Structure & Subteams

Every student on our team belongs to a subteam based on their interests and skills. Each subteam plays a critical role in our success, and together, they form a complete robotics organization.

Our subteams are supported by over two dozen adult mentors who bring professional expertise and real-world experience to guide student learning.

  • StormBots gave me more real-world programming experience than most of my peers in college. StormBots also helped me build up a lot of soft skills by trying my hand at a leadership position and work on my communication and mentoring skills of others.

  • In my interview with Intel I discussed how robotics has given me an interest in technology. I told the interviewer I would love to continue supporting the STEM industry in my career as an accountant. I am confident that this set me apart from the hundreds of applicants and was a significant factor in me getting the position

  • I went into college with a head start in hands-on experience. This made it much easier to find internships and excel in college teams and classes, which jumpstarted my career as an engineer.... (now) I’m a major contributor to the development of an orbital rocket.

  • I'm writing payload integration software for satellites...I owe so much to the StormBots for teaching me how to be curious, driven, and solve complex problems with vague, often nebulous requirements. I also apply daily the leadership and gracious professionalism practices I learned.
